Alright, so, let's look at the position you're in. I notice your other gaming thread and saw that you're in a price range of 500-700$; in that case I'm going to have to say that maybe you should hold off on the Razer products for now unless you're really fixed on getting them. I'm not necessarily saying that Razer products are terrible, however I am saying that they are expensive and have garnered a reputation for being considered over priced and in some cases withholding quality that does not always stand up to the price. (It should go without saying that this is contextual) The most popular gaming peripherals that Razer offers, the Black Widow and Deathadder, are priced at 100$ and 70$ USD respectively. 140$ if you want the fancy LEDS; keep in mind that both editions feature mechanical keyswitches. The Tartarus (80$) is a gamepad that I cant really see you wanting unless you are interested in the MMO or MOBA genre; anything that relies on macros and hotkeyes. It has the analog stick, sure, but I don't see it being worth 80$ unless you're playing the demographic games. Since you're starting out with PC gaming consider other, cheaper, solutions. There's no shame in it. The Deathadder is a great mouse, however it can look a little steep at 70$. I'd speculate that some of the extra price from Razer products is from the aesthetics and convenience rather than full functionality. If I had to throw suggestions, I'd say get a decent cheapo keyboard or mouse with good ratings on Newegg or any other tech retail site. It's important to do research before jumping into buying a short-term investment and downgrading your actual rig. If you really want a "gaming" mouse and mechanical keyboard though, look into any in 30 price range with differential dpi settings. [i]Good[/i] mechanical keyboards are inherently pricey so you can get away with forking cash over for a Razer Product. The Razer Blackwidow Tournament edition in particular is listed at 80$
