We are Forever Untitled Studios an unknown, at the moment, indie studio beginning our first official project!!
Everything is being coded from scratch to be a 2D based platformer. All current details will be listed below in their respective categories.

-story/custom story maps are stored in packs, they hold all resources (textures,sounds,and code) needed for the levels to function properly making the game highly moddable[/spoiler]
Interact-able objects! (buttons,traps,etc.)

-buttons/trap components not yet worked on
-the level editor will allow you to edit block properties creating any type of object you can imagine!

Story Ideas! (these are from me to generally inspire you guys, Mainly gamma ;D)
[spoiler]-your father left when you were young, he wrote his will early if in some case he didn't return, when you come of age you are read his will.
-"Child, I have left on a journey to adventure for the keep of [you guys name it] to leave a legacy behind for the family, if I do not return come and make something of us. Our future generations need a story to be proud of."
-there is a note on the letter's outside
-"do not give this to my child until [he/she] has a child of [his/her] own"
-Me and faxxy are still developing the story behind all of this trying to give the player a serious reason to platform![/spoiler]

Anything you post below will possibly be used in the main storyline of the game! If you have a sick idea for a custom dungeon that you want in the main game, tell us! If you want to wait till you can make it yourself, by all means wait! We want to see your contributions on whatever site we designate for map-packs when we get there!

I like the idea of a non-pixely 2D platformer. However, you should make sure It's not too hard to run, because the easier it is to run and how adaptable It Is the wider the audience it will reach. Not only graphically adaptable but it should be available on multiple OSs; like Linux, and Mac. You know, I want to do what you're doing now one day. My dream is to be a game developer. To make something others can enjoy; to hand-craft an experience with pure imagination and skill with others in mind and then let them at it like kids on Christmas; to have a community who trusts our decisions and who we can trust in return. I want to live for those moment when the kids (community) looks up with a huge cheesy grin and say "No way! For me!?!" I even want the kid who no matter what I get them it isn't good enough, to push us to do better and to show me when we're wrong. Keep chasing your dreams guys. You're looking in the right place for a community. I'm not speaking for everyone but, if you keep to your word and keep trying, we'll chase after'm with you.

Quick suggestion-in-a-question. When was the last time you played a 2d platformer with good graphics?

Like all good games, lava needs to be involved. If you fall in lava, your character should give a thumbs up as an omage (I know that isn't spelled right) to Terminator 2.

Add trolls admins some small enemy that comes by the 50s and so easy to kill. (Will be considered the Flood) maybe call em the Tsunami

Add radiation to certain zones, if you stay in a contaminated place too long you start to receive rad points, which in turn reduce your stats or movement speed.

Well I for one would love to see a Metroid(original) remake or a reasonable facsimile of it. Or Castlevania SOTN. Both of those games had more to discover than most games today. Maybe it's nostalgia talking though.

Ok, I'mma try to take this as srs bzns, so I'm going to just shoot ideas at you. the plot should focus on our main hero, no need for a love intrest, and this Mo fo must have some sort of drive to platform... maybe a revenge plot? some form of save the world from the final boss.... maybe a reflection on the character, with some tragic event causing him/her to reflect on him/herself mid-game.

There should be a big boss that can teleport you to an unknown part of the map and make you lose an item of sorts.

I have yet to see a 2D platformer with a fully developed story aside from Naught, and even that was more artistic and awe-inspiring than plot-driven. You're going to have to give me more to go off of if you want more in-depth ideas from me, at least.
