At what point in time would you ask "How was your day"?
So, at what time would you say "How [i]was[/i] your day" instead of "How [i]is[/i] your day"?
I say, about, eh, 9:00 PM?
What do you say?

Sometime in the evening, at least. By then, the majority of the day will have passed.
