I think it will be cool to do something like this. It will make rare drops even more rare. So you'll feel like you did something to get that drop and not just be like I killed that boss.
Edit:
So people find this to be really bad so Im going to add to it. Most saying why its bad (like some one can just wait to get the last hit)
If you play L4D then you know at the end of a run it will tell you who did the most damage to the Tank and other boss in that run. Well what about that if you do the most damage on the Boss then you get one more rare drop add to it? Or Xp or anything.
I made this to see what yall can come up with will most of all got mad. Most of it is my fault for not putting "what do yall think and how will you go about doing something like this?" but some got it and went with it and came up with some cool things. Also no reason to get mad I post it to get a conversation going not for you to get mad.

I get what you're saying here but everyone's loot is going to be different anyway. I may think a dropped exotic LMG is amazing, but my friend will think his exotic Sniper Rifle is better. It really depends on preferences as well

Edited by Oddball: 3/23/2014 8:16:12 AMOnly someone who sucks at playing video games would post a thread like this. To sum up your post, you're saying it's alright to upgrade the loot of kill stealers than the person who did all of the work.

This is now nominated as one of the top 3 worst ideas #destiny has created. Can you not see how this would be obviously abused...
-
If everyone played nice then this idea would work.. but unfortunately you would get people who do not contribute to the battle and just wait till the end for the final shot.

Edited by Valkain: 3/23/2014 9:24:07 AMAs I hope that loot is distributed equally. Getting the last hit on a boss is a very bad way to go about rewarding a player. *Cough Cough* *Nudge Nudge* Respawn Entertainment... Although I want to see loot given fairly to other Guardians. I wouldn't mind the top 3 players getting better loot because they did the most work.

It may work better on a scale of effort. Take into account damage done, shots fired/hit accuracy, damage taken, etc. No Hunter is gonna pop a shot in on Rixis and steal my goodies when I about died trying to Nova Bomb his sorry four armed butt.
-
I don't have an opinion either way but I would go for a most damage dealt drop instead of last shot drop. Then it actually would make you feel like you did somethin. You could sneak a last shot and have done less damage than anyone. Would kinda suck.
-
No. Say a team is just shooting at a boss Whoever fired last gets it even though he didn't do anymore work than anyone else Also Say a person does all the work You come in Shoot and gets the last shot It's not fair Plus it makes room for competition People just want to get the last shot Destiny is a team game not a competition
-
It would be could to get "rare drops" but I don't think it should be by getting the last hit on a boss. I think it would add too much competitiveness In a cooperatively social game. Perhaps if you killed a boss a certain way, time frame, gun, or in a certain armor set, you should get rare drops. Now I'm just throwing this out there as example, don't take it seriously. Killing a fire-element based enemy with a fire-elemental weapon could result in a rare drop because your could've killed the enemy easier with a water type gun but instead went the harder way and therefor you become awarded. If that makes sense

Horrible idea.

I'd rather the game go with whoever worked the hardest over somebody just winging the final shot.
