I have the biggest artistic block at the moment that is fuelled by shitty university work. I've almost lost all interest in photography... and that's frustrating because it used to be the one thing that I could just do day in and day out and still be excited about capturing the world around me.
Anyone got any tips to overcome this?
I felt bad about being offtopic so I deleted it. This is my redemption
But haha, you're right. If only! Here, have a few tutorial pictures I picked up a few years ago before I gave up on drawing http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img18/899/t3rn.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img34/8793/zg4z.jpg http://imagizer.imageshack.us/a/img203/6703/3tya.jpg Obviously they aren't good to follow to the letter, but you might get a few tips.

Find something stunning and just play, nothing fancy, just capture the moment. I love photography and I like to play with sunset light and people... I can show you one I took with my camera if you'd like, but more importantly find a type that you love and do that

I don't really know. I recently had this too with drawing. I just wanted to give up and stop. But when I started playing Worms I got happy again. It's not that a game just makes me happy, it really were the worms in the game. I really like them a lot and they're always crazy, wacky and funny! And they made me draw again! So what I could tell you is think of something that you really like, and do something with that, like drawing it or take a photo of something. :)

Haha, if only I had Worms as motivation! and easier said than done, I'm afraid. I'm sooo swamped with crap from uni that it has got to the point where whenever I have time to shoot, I have to focus on those instead of branching out. Just gaaaah!

Hmm.. Is there a possibility to take a break from it all? A friend of mine on deviant art did this too and it helped him so much. You must not let it control your life. You need to make time for things you love. :3

I can't believe I missed this, but you're right. Thanks for the advice! I went shooting today actually! After a couple of weeks doing nothing I finally found the motivation to do something. I took some really nice macro shots of just things. Like textures and that. Not anything too exciting or related to any assignment, but it piqued my interest Only thing now is that now my SD card reader on my Laptop isn't working so I can't look and edit them WHY DOES THIS LIFE HATE ME

Heheh, that's life! You'll run into problems, but you can fix them aswell! :D
