We Know that the Traveler sacrificed itself to save humanity, however if it hovering above the last city and protecting us with its shields, then it is still alive. Do you think that the darkness is returning to finish it off? does the darkness care about us, or the traveler? Also, if it is still alive then is there a chance we could see it get repaired? The last question i have is who created the Traveller, and will we see them in a future destiny title?

I don't think we will have to wait for another Destiny Game to find out. Maybe a few years, but if you recall they plan on supporting this game for about a decade instead of this being another series, it will have several expansions I can guess over the next however many years. Only issue I foresee is when last gen starts to dwindle will they continue to release DLC?
-
The Borg created the Traveler. No... wait, that was V'ger... ...Nevermind...
-
I think the darkness will be the 5th race as it is the travelers enemy and try haven't said anything really about the 5th race(that I have come across if I'm wrong I'd like to see that info) and yes it will be back idk if we will see it in the first game or not but before the series ends we will have to kill it
-
Your killing me here. Anyways... PoTurtles.... My mind short circuited on all of this potato and turtle nonsense. Do you pride yourself on what you did
-
This also proves Team POTATO is superior to team turtle. Just look at the traveler,it's circular, just like a potato, obviously it isn't a coincidence.
-
It doesn't look like a living thing to me. I doubt it was ever actually "alive".
-
It would be cool if you 'activated' the traveler in the last game.
-
-
You need to poke it with a stick to know if its dead. You're welcome.
-
i'm pretty sure its dormant. otherwise its gonna be quite difficult putting it in the game's plot...unless you extract its powers for a final boss fight in the last destiny game
-
IM NOT DORMANT
-
The Darkness is bad but are we the only race fighting and/or affected by it?
-
Edited by Elaborate Toast: 3/8/2014 6:03:25 AMWas it ever truly "alive"? Ooooooooo.
-
I donk think it is a who that created the traveler, i think it's more like a what.
-
The Traveler is the Traveler, it wasn't made, it came into being, I believe it's the imbodiment of light.
-
I think it is a bad guy.
-
The Traveler protected us. Now its our turn to protect it!
-
I think the Traveler is the actual being, which is dead but his ship, the sphere is still working.
-
What if the traveler IS dead, and it used its last bit of energy to trap the darkness inside of it. Everytime a guardian uses some of the travelers power, we make the prison weaker. Believing that we are fighting to awaken the traveler, in doing so, we unwittingly unleash the darkness.
-
I believe it has already been confirmed by the Bungie team that the fight with the Darkness left the Traveler drained and dormant. Now the Darkness is returning to finish the job and the Last Cities guardians will be scrambling to awaken the Traveler
My question about the Destiny plot has to do with the Darkness....
Does it believe in a thing called love?
The background on Bnet with the lateral and longitudinal lines appears to be the blueprints, so yea I think we are gonna repair it :)
-
You pretty much stated my entire assumption as to the entire story behind Destiny...I wish I had wrote it sooner :P
-
I hope it is dead. We didn't get knocked down and pushed to the brink of none existence till it showed up. Now we are in some parasitic relationship with it all the while thinking it's protecting us. I believe the Traveler is evil and the darkness saved us but couldn't finish it off. Only reason it's dormant is because there isn't enough human life force to feed off of. Once there is enough food it will finish us off. It tricked us into fighting its enemies. Once they are gone, the Traveler will strip us of space magic and devour the lot of us.
-
Notice that there are holes on the bottom part of the traveler. Could this imply that you could possibly enter the traveler? Possibly hidden inside is a rare powerful alien weapon?
-
I actually do believe that the Traveler is dormant. Although I doubt we will see anything really big happen with it until future installments, whether that will be in the form of a new title or in the form of dlc, I can't really say. That's my opinion anyways.

These are some great questions. First off I want to say that I hope we don't figure out any information at all about the traveler. I want to travel to some distant far off galaxy in another installment of Destiny, only to find thousands of travelers floating in space or right off a planet. I'm thinking the Traveler is going to be the center of this fantasy world for all sequels to come. As far as it being dormant or dead, if the thing dies it better not take my nova bomb away from me.
