American football
NFL bosses are claiming that before they can branch out around the world they need to break in the UK, so do you think American football will stay in America if NFL fails in Britain?
Keep in mind we are not a fan of American football but there are some supporters here, there was a London team last time the NFL tried to go global.

9 RepliesIt just needs to grow, there is serious talk at FIFA of an international league for football, like a permanent Champions league (for example, LG2->LG1->Championship->BPL->International league)

7 RepliesI think the logistics of global travel alone will stop this from ever making a real push. Trips across the pond every couple weeks would really wear down an average person and throw off a normal training and preparation regiment. But the London game each year does seem to be popular.

It wont come to england for while. LA will get a team Toronto will get a team Mexico City will get a team All before London.

4 RepliesI think the sport will spread to Mexico before London gets team. Easier logistics, more demand for a team in Mexico, and there are already games in London.

2 RepliesThere are definitely British fans, and I enjoy watching it sometimes, but I think the amount of breaks between play and the fact it's considered a pussy version of rugby means it won't ever really catch on over here.

I don't think it'll work to well. It would be like trying to move a Premier League team over to New York. If Roger Goodell actually tries to put an NFL team in London, it'll be a disaster.

People show up to the UK games, arguably better than some US team's games (Jaguars and Buccaneers come to mind), and if the NFL thinks they can make money with a UK team then they're definitely gonna do it. The problem is, do the PLAYERS want that? It's not like they're gonna draft a whole team of English players. They're gonna pick up an existing franchise and move it to London. That might not sit well with players who will have to travel back and forth to a foreign country. I think we're still at least 3 years out before something like that becomes a reality, but it's inevitable. It's gonna happen.

baseball tried this back in the early 1900's with a baseball world tour, and it failed miserably. i dont see this going any differently.
