8 weeks until the Beta?
If I read the weekly update right the Beta will be ready roughly in 8 weeks according to the weekly update. Guess I better get a move on with my next gen console. xbox 1 price dropped this week, I am hoping ps4 will do the same in the next month or two

Its until their next production milestone, not the beta. Would love if it was, but I wouldn't count on it.

2 RepliesFrom the description this sounds more like the "feature lock" milestone of previous Bungie games (/most development cycles). In this 8 weeks they will focus the team on the remaining unfinished/unpolished features and get them finished. In this stage they'll stop creating new features and finish the ones they've already started - and figure out which ones can't be finished in time and cut them so that all focus goes into finishing the ones they can. The build at the end of the 8 weeks will basically be like the final game but they'll use the remaining time until launch to squash bugs / tune balance / polish assets. That build won't be quite ready for public consumption yet (even public beta worthy) - but it'll give everyone a static target to pour into cleaning up and polishing because they'll know that what's there won't be changing. All the art and music guys can also be more confident in finishing their pieces because they know it won't be changing and waste their time.

2 RepliesDeeJ followed this up by saying something like "If you're hoping on having the game on your shelf in 8 weeks, I'm going to have to ask you to put on the brakes." I'm pretty sure that means Beta won't be ready until at LEAST mid-June.

Technically thats when they finish. They still need to put it in certificating and ready it to down load.

i think it will be a a bit later than the 8 weeks they talked about in the update, as your presuming that everything will go as they expect, i would expect there will be a few more changes once that 8 weeks is up before we get the beta, but i would agree that its getting closer to the beta
