I bought one of those cards from the store with codes to add money to your Xbox Live account, like I always do. I even paid my tax like a dutiful citizen.
So I get home, redeem the code, no problems at all, $20 successfully added to my account.
I go to purchase my things on the marketplace, worth $20 (or 19.99 or some stupid shit like that)
not enough in your account, loser
probably because you aren't paying tax
Huh. So, the cards are now officially useless. The only option now-a-days is to put your credit card information online, which I've avoided like the plague (for a number of valid reasons). From what I hear (after using google for like 6 seconds), this happens on PlayStation as well, so this thread is at least console-war free. But does it seem strange to anyone else that we have to pay tax twice for DLC?

Sucks for you buddy, should have gotten the $20 and another smaller priced card. Use a debit card Sucks for you
-
At GameStop they taxed me for a card, but at Walmart I wasn't taxed, I feel like GameStop robbed me
-
I bought some stuff over last couple of weeks on XBL & had no issues
-
Pay your -blam!-ing taxes, bitch.
-
Your not paying tax twice... The old way included tax in the price. Now your just paying the tax on top of the original price. Get a debit card
The only option now-a-days is to put your credit card information online
It's not that tuff to figure out.......Get a Wal-Mart card......Put money on it......Use it ONLY for Xbox

That online tax is bs.

why are you afraid of putting in your credit card number?
