Many years ago, I decided that I really wanted to be able to speak in an Australian accent.
( I'm from America by the way. )
Fast-forward to today, and I've perfected it.
I pretend to be Australian on Xbox a lot.
Why? Because it's fun.
I'm now trying to further myself.
What are some common, everyday phrases or words that the average middle-class, 17 year old teenage Australian guy might use?
-
So, if I go to America and say 'G'day mate' to everyone I meet, will they subconsciously cream themselves and fall over motionless?
-
To be Australian you need anti gravity boots.
-
If you can take a word/phrase, shorten it, and add -o or -ie to the end of it, you won't have any problems. service stations = servo smoke break = smoko mailman = postie etc...
-
I thought you were a Brit for two days when I played with you on Xbox. Then I remember our most recent Floodian game night on Halo 3 and I caught you out of character >:D
-
"Holy dooley!" -Sniper
-
"Rippa" "Corka"

Are we taking 'bogan', 'Aussie pride', or just 'normal' people here?
-
crickey m8! :P

We call our friends -blam!-s and we call strangers mates.
