Fastest Car on Earth is American Once Again
At the Kennedy Space Shuttle Runway, a Hennessy Venom GT reached an independently verified GPS indicated speed of 270.49 MPH ( 434 kph for the metrc folk).
To put that into perspective, that car at 270 mph will cross the length of an American football field in about .08-0.9 of a second.
It would have been a blast to be in the passenger seat on that ride, or even at the helm.
SO, who wants to chip in for a Flood Hennesy Venom GT?

If they had redesigned the bodywork then it would be hard to badmouth this achievement, which is amazing in itself. Unfortunately this is always going to be remembered as the modded Lotus.

6 RepliesJust to add to the thread The car is essentially a stretched lotus chassis with a twin turbo LS7 strapped to it. A budget way to do this is to buy a used Z06 and build it up. Mind you it'd cost a lot of money, but it wouldn't get near the million dollar price tag of the Venom.

That's crazy. I remember when the concept of a Lotus body with a 1000bhp engine was revealed to the world as the Venom GT, I started laughing because I thought it was so ridiculously cool.
