Why kill someone for killing another? It can't bring the dead back from their graves.
What is your view on the death penalty?
-
Yeah, I'm sure you would keep that same opinion if someone killed your family members.

I would be more ok with it if it wasn't for the fact that a significant portion of death row inmates who are innocent.
-
So here, I say that if someone commits a crime punishable by death willingly, knowing he could be executed at the end, there is no reason he shouldn't die.
-
Putting them in prison doesn't bring dead back from their graves either... Not disagreeing with you, just sayin.
-
Hitler deserved death. Osama Bin Laden deserved death. Stalin deserved death. Etc.
-
I say we just ice them like Demolition Man :D If some of them die in the process of becoming a human popsicle... ah well... <.<
-
I have no problem with the death penalty, I just don't get why we use it.
-
I disagree.
-
My only problem with death penalty is that the police could end up incriminating the wrong person for a technical mistake or just human error, if the law could be accurate to find the real murderers, then I would accept it.
-
I agree these men and women did something horrible and unforgivable but us doing the same makes us no better.
-
The death penalty should be an accidental side effect of involuntary corrective brain surgery.
-
Stop with the soft American execution, and bring back crucifixion. That'll do the trick.
-
Make a bunch of murderers fight each other to the death. Last one standing gets life in prison. What? It'd be fun to watch.
-
What is your view on the death penalty?
It makes my gas bill go up.
-
>people in America say they are against a murdering government. >Death penalty is allowed in some states. Lol what kind of logic is that?
-
Edited by Elrond Hubbard: 2/23/2014 6:21:32 PMA person being put to death for a crime they didn't commit is completely unacceptable. It's a colossal failure when that happens, because the system is killing the very people it's supposed to protect. The possibility of that happening should not be tolerated at all.

Death penalty is just revenge re-worded.
-
Wrong.
-
Here's my view on it. By imprisoning the criminal, you're punishing him for his crimes. But killing him? That's getting revenge.(Which, by the way, is bad) By killing the criminal you're stooping down to his level and killing him for whatever reason you deem to be justified. This isn't how an advanced civilization should act.

ITT: bloodlust.
-
I'm not against it nor am I for it. The only positive thing is that it can probably bring peace/security to the family that ha the tragedy. I'm sure it also lowers the prisoner count and opens up new spaces for other inmates.
I feel like a machine after writing this ;-;
-
>it costs more than a life sentence >moral issues >could mistakenly sentence someone innocent (it's happened) >batman doesn't kill and he's batman
-
Debt repayment principle. Take something you give something of equal value back.
-
It can't bring the dead back from their graves
And neither can imprisonment. Nor can a fine. Nor can being told that they have been a little bit naughty. Nothing can bring the dead back from the grave ... so shall we just let them go ?? Or should we equalize the situation. If it was considered fine for the killer to kill, why should it not be as acceptable for him/her to be killed.
-
I view punishment as something that should fit the crime, hence why I think it's fair for someone to die for killing another. Their victim didn't get to keep living, don't see why the murderer should be allowed to continue their life.
