Question about the CoC...

So, about number 4 under stuff that sucks stating: Breaking the law, plotting, or describing illegal activities. I understand why it is in place for the most part. But I, along with most every Bungie employee, live in a state (one of two now) where marijuana is now legal. So, would it be breaking the CoC if I say something like my wife made pot brownies today, or my friend grew an amazingly beautiful indica plant, or I just smoked a big j of shake with my mother (she is a classy lady)? As the laws shift from state to state and things become more grey on this subject, what can we expect from the Ninjas regarding bans and such? Also, I am sorry if this belongs in another place, wasn't sure if it belonged here, or under #Bungie.

    • Looks like foman and butane explained it perfectly.

      • Yeah, like Butane said, just try to use common sense. Remember that even in Washington and Colorado (as well as other states that have medical marijuana laws), it's still illegal under federal law and many countries, and it's a pretty controversial topic for a video game developer's website anyway. I agree that this is a clearly shifting area of law, but there's no clear consensus yet, and it's probably a good idea to keep things mildly vague for now.

        • As you said, it's a big grey area. Like anything, it's mostly going to come down to context. If you want to talk about the political aspects, ramifications and said laws, and other stuff like that, then generally it will be OK. As you described, if you go around talking about it like the examples you gave in your post, then it will probably be removed. It is still widely illegal, and it would be best not to discuss usage here at this time.

          • I have seen them warn or ban people who speak of drugs or such dealing. while legal where you might live it has been frowned on. Good reasons too. The main one is it does not belong on a Game Designer website. Second hard core talk like that is not approved of in public. So that would apply to the internet. IRL stuff like that does not belong here. I am sure a ninja can help you but this is from my observations and the last sentence is my opinion of the matter.
