This is a FAQ to help everyone understand a bit more of who we are.
What is KOS?
Kings of Sin is a gaming community. We are different from the traditional style of clans that are run like a hierarchy or military system where people just bark orders at you. We try to encourage our members by listening to their input and ideas on how we can make KOS a more fun and prosperous community.
How many people are in KOS?
Around a few hundred. This group here on Bungie just acts as a portal or outpost for the rest of our community.
What kind of rank structure does KOS have?
We are currently using a military type rank structure that is split into three different levels. The Squad level which holds the majority of our members. The Divisional level which oversees the squads. Finally the Community level which oversees everything in the community on every game or platform we are based. No one rank is more important than the other, they all provide a crucial part to the community.
How do the lower ranks help make decisions?
We have another layer to our ranking structure that most other communities or clans don't have, and that is called the Council. The Council is a group of individuals that are made up of 2 representatives from each squad. One representative is the ranking squad leader, the other is a member that was voted into the position by the rest of the squad. To help keep a cycle of new ideals flowing we have the council representative that was voted in serve for only 3 months and then have to wait another term after that before they can run again.
So I have to be on the council to help make decisions?
It depends on the decision. We make every decision with the community members in mind. A lot of the time the squad leaders will get members opinions on decisions that could effect the squad. Sometimes ideas and suggestions will be posted on our website to get the communities input. In fact there is a dedicated section in our forums for suggestions that anyone can post in.
Do I have to change my gamiertag/psn to join?
NOPE! We don't require you to change your name on Xbox or Playstation to join. Many members decide to change it anyways out of free will. We do require the much higher ranks to have KOS in their name because we feel if you have put that much work in the community then you should be more recognized as a member of the community to the outside world.
Do I have to wear a uniform?
That depends on what squad/division you are in. In or Halo 4 divisions we do require a uniform which consists of your motto, primary armor color and Halo 4 service tag. We have a uniform to help depict which member is in what squad and what rank they are, it helps make everything go a lot more smoothly and helps with finding members. This could always change however, if the community reaches the point we hope it does then hopefully we can get rid of silly things like uniforms.
