So we got a specialty butcher shop in my neighborhood.
Never really had one of these growing up, but as an adult, im loving buying fresh meats and veggies from local growers, that only have grain and grass fed cattle and pigs.
Delicious stuff.
What are your experiences with butcher shops flood?

Pretty good. We have a butcher near our cottage, so every now and then we get something good from him. We always get our Thanksgiving turkey from him when we're up there. Also for Christmas, we went down to a grocery store that had AAA beef roasts on. We got their butcher to custom cut us a nice big and marbled roast. I'll tell you one thing, it was good.

Sometimes I can go to the butcher shop and see when they cut off the cows head. And then proceed to buy the meat coming from that cow. Fun

There is a place in NH that makes awesome Chinese sausage and steaks.

As a former paleo, that is where I got all my meat from. That and meat drops.

I've never seen an actual privately owned butcher shop. The closest I've gotten to "fresh" meat is deli-sliced from Whole Foods ._.

I love that smell when you walk into one.

There's a shop a good deal away from me where I take my deer to have them processed each fall, it's a pity it isn't closer to me. That being said, my grocery store has an amazing butcher counter hehe.

Edited by RIP delta: 2/14/2014 2:23:51 PMMy family has a holiday place on a big estate, so in summer when I'm there I love walking to the Hall and visiting their farmshop to buy meat. Its made all the better by the fact that 'local' in their sense means 'from the fields 50 metres away'. Best Venison Steak I've ever had has come from there. These days I make do with my local co-op as I don't want to buy from the local butchers as they all seem dodgy.
