If you're legitly looking for children's shows, try any popular cartoon shows: Fairly Oddparents SpongeBob The Regular Show Amazing World of Gumball Avatar: The Last Airbender Hell, even MLP if you are brave enough. All of the above are pretty good quality, relatively modern cartoon shows. A few of them I've only seen a few episodes of, but out of that whole list the few episodes I have seen were all pretty good. Gumball made me laugh out loud a few times.
