World at War is not the 5th CoD and yet some people call it "CoD 5."
Anyway, Call of Duty 4 was the last title to feature a major number in its name. Every game after was either a sequel or a spin-off with separate titles.
Since Call of Duty releases yearly, do you think they'll run out of ideas and make a Call of Duty 5? Maybe that one will go back to WW2.
-
No, because they realized that the numbers make it sound like they are milking their franchise. Which they are. The next COD would be 11.
-
Cod 5, is cod 5. WAW isn't a spinoff, prequel, or sequel. All games after WAW I wouldn't say are 6, 7, 8....... because they go off into series
-
I heard nowadays they only get 3 titles per series
-
I really don't think so. They're so far past that and have seemed to franchise it to different titles that it wouldn't make sense to go back.
-
No. I doubt much of CoDs current playerbase has even played CoDs 1-3 or even CoD 4. So I think it would confuse them if a CoD 5 comes out 7+ years after CoD 4.
-
I think they're trying to make us forget how much they're milking the series.
-
Nah because I think COD is all about the sub IP's now. Sledgehammer will do something new this year, probably Black Ops III from Treyarch, maybe Ghosts 2 from IW.
