this is not the original article by Fox, I had trouble finding it
This is an interesting story I ran into. Seems like Fox News (the news network) is claiming that the Lego Movie is anti-capitalist, and trying to spread a "liberal agenda" to our kids, telling them that big businesses are bad. This is because the villain is the head of a large corporation. Wether you care about the movie or not, and regardless of your political views, what are you thoughts on this claim? If I got any information wrong feel free to notify me.
-
A toy company makes a movies about toys so they can sell more toys. Yep! That sounds pretty anti-capitalist to me!
-
I worship my Lego overlords by kneeling over lego pieces whilst I pray to the Lego gods! the pain is nothing compared to the glory of worshiping my lego masters
-
Not surprised, they tried the same accusation with the last Muppet Movie.
-
Ban Legos.
-
Fox is always right
-
Isn't Batman in the Lego Movie? Batman who is secretly Bruce Wayne? Bruce Wayne the billionaire / owner of a giant corporation?
-
... This is the most stupid claim ever.

Edited by GammaF88: 2/13/2014 3:07:51 AMThe only time I was brainwashed by the Lego company was when I got completely taken in by the Bionicle Universe and bought up every book, model, and game my minuscule 10-year old's allowance could get me. Toa Nuva & Metru for life.
-
Lego is a large company. Fox is retarded.
-
Ah, Republicans :)...someone get legion to dig up files on foxes brainwashing

Edited by Ninjas are scary: 2/13/2014 2:26:31 AMThere are many series/movies where the main villain/antagonist is the head of some powerful corporation. E.g. Superman. I myself have not seen the movie, but seeing as how they seem to claim that LEGO, a company that has been around for many years, seems to now support anti-capitalism propaganda. Now, the fact that they are self-advertising in the movie is another deal. It IS their movie after all. It is inevitable to see so many LEGO's, LEGO logos, and LEGO pieces in a LEGO movie. Part of why they made the movie must have been for sole advertisement purposes, I'm sure.
-
The entire movie is a huge advertisement for LEGO, a big business. The name is inside the movie everywhere, too, seeing as they put it on every brick. The movie is about finding yourself and not just doing what everyone else is doing.

Brainwashed? Nobody's brainwa- MUST BUY LEGOS. MUST BUY LEGOS. MUST BUY LEGOS.

Edited by Lord Commissar: 2/13/2014 1:33:05 AMSoo uhh... Do they not realize that LEGO is an incredibly wealthy and successful corporation that would have absolutely nothing to gain by indoctrinating children to hate large and wealthy corporations? Then again these are the same people that accused Spongebob of being a liberal indoctrination tool because he was riding a bike to work ( or something like that, it's been years since they ran that story).
-
Corporations run the country. They have the most money in the world.
-
Because big businessmen have never done anything bad or shady in history, amirite gais?
-
Ban Fox News
-
I haven't seen it yet lol
-
There's no such thing as 'Legos'.
-
Fox
Fox News is a joke, don't listen to a thing they say.
-
I'll bend over backwards for legos.
-
Fox News (the news network)
You know you're in The Flood when you have to clarify something like that haha!
-
Hahahaha why can't something be taken at face value. That's why I hate annotating cause I take the words at face value and think they mean nothing else. It really bothers me that people make stories just to have something
-
Yeah, our toys should really teach our children to be worthless slave-masters instead of builders and designers.
-
I saw it last night and the thought did not even cross my mind. That is straw grasping it seems to me...
-
So you yanks will say Legos but not Maths? smh
