Can you give my routine a critique? I do a 3 day split i think. Each muscle group is worked twice a week. Three Exercises per group per day. I increase weight with each set doing the following 60% (of 1 rep max) 70% 80% 90% 95% at ten reps each or to failure. Each day ends with 20 minutes of HIIT Example day (using my monday) chest/back/shoulders+traps Bench press Incline dumbell press Hammer Machine chest press Bent row Reverse grip bent row Lat dumbell pull Military press Arnold press Deltoid fly Shoulder shrug Up right row Dumbell upright row Tuesday Bis, Tris, Abs Wed Lega repeat Sunday off (cardio) Is it too much? Trying to burn fat, and increase strength

Why can't I gain any weight? I'm 5'11" and 148ish pounds. I eat a lot of food, both healthy and not. So wtf?

Edited by afanoflafear: 2/14/2014 12:19:08 AMHow often do you train chest, traps and lats? do you train them on the same day? do you fap / have sex? (some guys I know prefer to avoid it because they claim it limit your gains)

How much weight do I need to use in order to acquire aesthetics? For example let' say I can only bench press 120 pounds. Will that be enough to see results in a hypertrophy routine, or should I be worrying more about strength at this point? I hope this made sense.

Is it better to run faster for 30 minutes or slower for an hour?

Are you natty? Actually, it'd be more appropriate to, instead, ask what gear you are on. Why haven't you gotten your certification in nutrition yet? Get on it.

Protein makes you fat. Truth or False?

Running. Before or after lifting for that extra fat burn? I often run a mile for a warm up, lift, then run for 25 minutes of HIIT. A guy at the gym suggested a 5 min warm up, lift then 40min of HIIT in a row as opposed to my warm up mile. I tried his suggestion and while the cardio was difficult I felt that the lifting wasn't as difficult as it normally was. which is better? I google and get mixed results.

What are your thoughts on Protein Shakes?

Ok, so I want to start doing Insanity more regularly, and the one part I want to figure out is the food portion. You see, the equations in the nutrition guide say that I should have 3000 calories a day, and have about 5 meals each day. For my normal school day, that would work out to me eating at 8AM, 11AM, 2PM, 5PM, and 8PM. I'd probably do my workouts around 6PM. What I wanted to ask is, what should I eat in order to meet the caloric requirements? It would preferable if it was something easy to follow and eat, as I want to be able to eat in class without being too messy. Just in case, my measurements are 5'10" and I weigh 155 pounds.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but: I was curling a week ago at the gym and my I think I pulled something around my wrist and whenever I bench or whatever the same wrist always gets a sharp pain just like I got when I was curling.

I just rolled out my calves after doing a crazy workout that took 2 hours with the track team. So riddle me this: why does icing, taping, rolling, and doing other shit to your muscles after they're sore and tired and need rest make you feel better?
