So I had a Bnet birthday a couple days ago, though, I know no one cares. But For those who pretend to here are some thoughts on my 5 years here. I find it interesting how my perspective of this website and internet communities has changed. I used to careless about the community and just cared about screwing around. Just making stupid jokes, stupid threads, and getting my self banned a lot. I realize in the last couple years I have actually started to connect and care about this community. Though I will admit, I still mainly make stupid threads and jokes.
But I have changed, I have worked on community projects, made helpful threads, and been like... a nice guy. It's weird, usually I always thought the point of the internet was to troll people. I've been thinking about what could have caused a change in me and I realized something. When you spend time on a website like this and start to make friends you start to feel... welcomed. You start to feel like you "belong" there, and when that happens you feel the need to help out. Now this website has gone through a lot of changes. Old people have left. and new people have come in. I personally perceive we are currently in a were puberty like state. Where a lot of people just feel weird and misfit, once things settle and familiar faces start to be more familiar things will change. People will feel connected, and they willl also feel the need to give back. Creating the great community that this place has been for years.
Of course I could be wrong, but these are just my thoughts. Personally I think the next 5 years on this site could be 10x more superior than the last 5. The community just has to... well mesh...
Anyways, Cheers to 5 years. Also, I know I rambled a bunch. That is just how my thinking process works.
