Other then its easy attention seeking.
None of you are interesting enough to justify it.

Because people post in them, which is the driving force behind all forums. So stop complaining.

It's popular because of Reddit and because people like to blog about their lives. AMA threads allow people to disguise blog shitposts as discussion threads. It doesn't help that any girl who makes an AMA thread here will get 300+ replies from lonely guys who want to get attention from females. Once those threads happen, other attention hungry users think it will work for them too and thus dozens more AMA threads are born.

... AMA.
-
None of you are interesting enough to justify it.
And why I keep hiding every single one that pops up.
-
Everyone has pretty much said it, so I'll ask a question. What "justifies" an AMA thread?
-
I would give my honest opinion about it, but I'll get banned. Again....
-
Because people like to ask other people anything.
-
None of you are interesting enough to justify it.
So true.
-
dat salt I'm considering making one, just to add to it.
-
Lol. Did I hurt someone's feelings?
-
I think this is secretly an AMA.

Boredom mostly, it's an interesting way to talk about a lot of topics with a user that normally you wouldn't be able to. It's less to do with Omg gais i'm so different and special ama, it's more just 'I'm bored AMA' hence the thread titles.

Edited by Citadel Space: 2/10/2014 8:09:25 AM"Hey guys, I'm at the park, AMA" Ah yes because of the fact that you're at the park makes you so damn interesting to point that it makes me wanna ask you anything about anything. (This is usually what AMAs look like) lol This one always imagines people foaming at the mouth whenever they create those threads. And then people make their own almost as if they were trying to compete with each other.

Someone makes AMA thread Person gets tons of attention Thread gets a ton of posts Someone else sees the thread Wants all that attention and a big thread too Makes AMA thread Rinse and repeat
None of you are interesting enough to justify it.
Or maybe you're just boring as hell?
Jk, luv u bby.
Because you touch yourself at night.
-
AMA is just attention whoring.
-
One person does it, then another sees how easy it is to get recognition. That's my assumption anyway. I'd start one, but I have have a feeling about what everyone would ask me. "What did it feel like to kiss Kevin Costner on the set of Murder She Wrote? Was it as dreamy as I think it was?" Give it a break guys! That was during my water polo years. Everything was a blur, but I'm better now.
-
None of you are interesting enough to justify it.
Oh, I see how it is.
-
What if you discover how interesting they are through the AMA thread?
-
I really don't know why did it never happen in b.old
-
People ask about my anatomy all the time... so why not?
