Every so often I'll join up with some large corp fleets that do interesting things and take loads of pictures. Why? Because I realize that EVE Online is one of those games that many people would rather read about than play. No doubt many of you here have heard about the blood bath of B-BR5B in which 75 titan class ships were destroyed, an unprecedented amount of ships and ISK were lost as a result of this battle on both sides.
In response CCP to the carnage CCP created a site in B-BR5B comprised of a single monument surrounded by the wrecks of many of the capital ships that had taken part in this enormous battle.
The start of this begins in a little system called Aldrat, an evemail was sent out a few days ago saying that the new owners of B-BR5B were going to temporarily allow a bunch of people to visit this graveyard without being destroyed on site. Over 100 frigates and destroyers gathered together outside the Pashtor Tech School. Our FC (a pilot of one of the titans who had been destroyed) was to lead us to a system where we would be bridged into the system by one of his friends who owned a Leviathan, a Caldari titan. Once we arrived at the POS (player owned station) we waited by this massive ship for him to send us through a warp tunnel that spit us out into the center of the graveyard.
Here we were surrounded by the wrecks carriers, dreadnaughts, and titans that were all many many times our size. Their broken hulls floating early over the systems gas giant. In the distance we could see the statue erected for this monuments battle surrounded by glowing greenish blue energy fields. A newer corp mate asks "What are those things?" and one of our Russian hosts chuckles "Those are for the tourists my friend".
And with that (and a warning by them not to leave the graveyard least we be instantly destroyed by them) we were allowed to freely roam the site and take our pretty pictures.
