Well so far we have 25-30 games planned for the next 30 years till our big project... It could be a bit less time because all 3 of us programmers are working on 3 games at a time so ehh only a matter of time before we make it to the BIG one... What we really need is support and i guess you could say some "fan-base" before we start releasing, and I had the idea that all my wonderful friends over at my bungie home would be a great place to get support and get some ideas. What I think would be really helpful are any ideas for small games that we could make because right now we want practice and anything to get out there anyone who helps will be listed and credited with their support.
anyone with ideas or suggestions comment here please :D and if there is a major discussion to be had we can message!
what you can do to help you ask?
well you can:
-suggest titles for games we have
-offer any stories you have written to be made into a game(3d engine pending at the moment)
-critique
-prealpha,alpha,beta, and pre-release test
-follow us and reccomend us to friends!!!
we hope there is a future in where we are heading and we need all the help of a community and I guess it would be a great time to help you with a description of what we plan on doing.
First off I'll start by describing all of our positions and ages (don't doubt us for how young we are)
me aka "nameless"-16-Founder- I do all the legal paperwork first of all to make sure everything is good to go, then I'm our integration guy first I've taken multiple art classes and I've been a 3d modeler/animator for almost 3 years now, and Ive been programming for a bit over a year. Knowing the tech side and the art side lets me know what we need to do to incorporate everything in together. my current project right now is programming a mod for minecraft learning how other games do Language registry and id's physics and basic engines are simple enough but mechanics are our focus at the moment because we'll need everything we can learn for well our big secret
YourLocalFaxMachine-17-lead programmer/co-founder- self taught programmer for 6 years he makes the engines we build our games in and he learns new things everyday, he got me into programming and I got him thinking we could actually do something great. I dream of things that are probably out of our level for now, and he brings me back into the atmosphere. In short we are the perfect colleagues. I know he is incredible at what he knows so I listen, and likewise. we first met in second grade but we never really did anything with our friendship until last year or so. his current project is a 2d game called "turtle simulator 2014" plan to be playing this in a few weeks my friends
Mazive Velocity-17-artist and programmer/co-founder- it was fate that me and this wonderful dreamer met in our programming class last year during this time I managed to persuade him that all of us could eventually do something great. and he... well I don't know how, but at times he seems to be more enthusiastic than me! and its great! the world needs more people like him. I started teaching him 3d modeling in our free time in programming and he grabbed it and ran. his current project is a text based rpg puzzle thingy... yea... um we got plans for that game that seem really interesting plan on playing it in a few weeks along with turtles
Civil_Man-18-3d artist/co-founder- I met this beautiful bastard 2-3 years ago and we've finally come together and let him in on our fun making us a group of four. He makes incredible high poly static models, I'm going to attempt to make him get into the world of character modeling because there I am alone and rigging is well... hell... he uploads weapons and items into source/steamworkshop on a regular basis and I plan on getting him and velocity active in this very group... his current project is a custom source engine map that I have no clue what he plans on doing with XD
Now this seems to have gotten a bit longer than planned and I have a bit more to tell
the rest will be in a spoiler below if you want to hear about some of the games we plan on doing soon if you don't want to read it go ahead down to the comments please I would love any talk
well here is a list of the games that we plan on doing along with some description(along with current projects)
-archmage-magic game where runes are drawn out to cast magics to solve puzzles
-archmage:arcane mysteries-sequal to the one above
-top down rts style game- something fun XD
-bob ross game- side scroller where the entire map is white you have to throw balls of paint to find and fight your way through the maps
-underground voxel survivor-there is no surface extremely limited rescources and food
-naval simulation-pirate game where you start with a basic ship travel beween ports sell stuff and fight other players/nps ships are actively destructible (bunch of math)
-3d mage game(we love fantasy)- you unlock magic runes on your arms and you use them to fight and solve puzzles
-rts zombie survival- multiplayer game where you and a community of players join up together to survive against the world(i know its cliche but it seems fun to make)
-some mario and yoshi clones with some fun addons
all of our games we plan on adding mod support for so the community can have some fun with all of them too
now I mentioned a big project and I plan on keeping that one secret but the one thing I wll release is the code name me and faxxy call it... "the simulation"
now thats all for the games but I want to talk about how we plan on doing most of this
-first of all I want to mention that we want to keep the company heavily based on the community and we want to make peoples dream games come true whatever the plotline or story or even alternate history you want to see we will do our best to honor your support
-everything community XD we will be active on our website once we get it up and we want you to know that you are talking to the actual devs of your games so you will be heard and we will address any problems you have our response will be quick and swift
-we are nerdy guys this is our life(just reinforcing the fact that we will be active on the web with the community)
-finally don't be afraid to join in on some jolly cooperation :D we are game developers not deadly poison please talk to us and make suggestions your input means the world to us and it will possibly jump start a massive revolution in the gaming industry
now if you stuck through that massive amount of text thank you and I hope I have your support because I know I will need it you wonderful people here will be the blood of the veins of this company and I thank all of you for any amount of support
And if you want to check out our (very) un-updated page on gamejolt here you go!!! http://gamejolt.com/profile/your-local-fax-machine/140020/

Edited by Ultra: 2/22/2014 1:42:05 AMAll those games planned? Sounds like bullshit to say it all will happen. Feel free to prove me wrong tho.

Why isn't this getting attention?

Noice you guys seem to have what you need. If you need any art help I can give a crack at next month. Workin on something for someone else (who doesn't really know it lol).
What each others backs since in business if you plan to depart in the future. It's cheaper to just hire a hit-man to kill your partner than it is to go through the legal court work.
This is extremely impressive. Personally I'd love to see a game where you truest build your own character from the ground up shaping his personality and becoming invested in him before actually getting in to questing and stuff.
-
You should probably get rid of the part where you mention how old you are, especially the "17 in a few months" part. It makes you sound like my 5 year old cousin, who never fails to remind me he's "not just 5 but already 5 and a half so he's already a big boy".

Where are y'all located? I'm going to go to college next year for video game art and design, but I'm in Dallas. I really want to be a game designer and I have some really great ideas. If you guys are close by, or just want to keep in touch with me to hear my ideas, just contact me. You don't have to hire me yet, or ever, I'd just like to be apart of it.
-
So your asking for any ideas? How good is your engine?
-
*supports post* I can't really offer any help beyond testing, but I have a strong Windows 7 64 laptop with the MS Net framework installed (assuming that's important for alpha games and such) so count me in :) I'd love to help your out with some basic 3D modeling, but I am a full time college student in a pre-med major, it's a time consuming vortex XD

Hi I think what you are doing is grate. I hope this works for you guys. I know Play Station is now supporting Indy game makers now. You could get a game on there. I have been playing games over 20 years now, and was thinking that if you started out making 8 & 16 bit games like PAC man, tanks, frogger, tetris, space invaders, and pinball, etc, games from the 80's. But I think if you have them Destiny themed, people will go crazy for them. Any ways good luck and I'll be watching for your work.
