Any one know if destiny's ranking system will be based on skill?
I play a lot of multiplayer if it's meaningful and competitive and I haven't played multiplayer since halo 3 for a prolonged period of time. I want there to be real conciquences for playing bad and for my team losing so it brings an intensity to the game which brings out the passion of team play and a real desire to win.
Edit:
Destiny features a compelling storyline, competitive multiplayer, cooperative gameplay choices, wide open public combat destinations, and third-person community spaces where you can repair and rearm before going out on your next adventure.
Any ideas or knowledge on this aspect will be helpful

It needs to be like Halo 2's ranking system. The majority of people should be rank 25, not 40+. I think it should be based on win % of your last 100 games or so. That way if keeps people from getting locked and at the same time it prevents people from shooting up through the ranks. It should be fairly accurate too. The average person probably wins 50% of the time so if you scale it to a 1-50 system they'd be a 25. It should also keep the population evenly distributed throughout the ranks since every match you have winners and losers. It should be a nearly perfect bell curve.
