Is Black History month necessary today?

Yes, it still serves an important purpose.

From Wikipedia:
In 1976 as part of the United States Bicentennial, the informal expansion of Negro History Week to Black History Month was officially recognized by the U.S. government. President Gerald Ford spoke in regards to this, urging Americans to "seize the opportunity to honor the too-often neglected accomplishments of black Americans in every area of endeavor throughout our history."
Today, do you think that we are able to properly observe African-American achievement throughout US history without the use of Black History month, or is a month designated for observing African American history in our country still necessary? If you're not American, then sorry, you don't exist to me in this thread.

It should just be combined with the curriculum. It's a double edged sword. Why spend ONLY a month on it? OR: Why do we need it? Why can we not combine it with our actual curriculum?
