So, I've been using a Chromebook as my only computer for the past month. Here's my opinion

http://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/devices/hp-14-chromebook.html#hp-cb-14 And I have been presently surprised. Google Drive is very useful in the event my laptop is left at home. It is basically my only location for storage. Google Docs I find to be just as good, if not, superior to Microsoft Office. So being productive is not a problem. The build quality is very much above what I'd expect at 299$, including the keyboard and trackpad which are both very responsive. It dual monitors(either mirror or extension to my home flat screen just fine, as well as the mouse and keyboard works good as well. Battery life is around 8 or 9 hours. It's not like there's much to power anyway. There's three main issues, both of I mostly avoid given my requirements. 1) I cannot run exe files. At all. This means using apps for pretty much everything. But hey, most are just as good, if not better then their Windows equivalents. 2) This computer is lacking in raw processing power. It works fine for everyday use, but for more demanding processes like rendering video or 3d modeling, I'd look elsewhere. 2) 16 gigs of internal storage may be inadequate for people who do not have reasonable access to the internet. I'm mostly at school(They have a guest login, with very good internet connections), or at home. So this is not a major problem. I of course could use an external Hard Drive So, that's about it. I do think that a Chromebook would suffice for the majority of people in High School(me) or College. Providing that you are not participating in activities requiring large amounts of raw processing power such as gaming or 3d rendering. If you do not have internet in your home, or places you require a computer, choose carefully. Even though it is primarily an internet based OS, offline Google Docs is sufficient. Please ask any questions you may have.
