As you know, Bungie unveiled the new cover art for Destiny.
The new cover art is mediocre. It doesn't stand out, unless you count the backwards head. The fan art made for Destiny looks much better. But why does the art by fans, look better than the art from the people that actually make the game? Here are just a few examples of fan art:

Artwork by Chainfire95
Star Wars Inspired Poster
Traveler Poster
I am disappointed in this new cover, because it makes Destiny look like another shooter. We all know Destiny is not just another shooter, it's very unique in many ways. But when the average gamer looks at the cover, all I can think of them saying is "meh."
So why did Bungie, or Activision, choose this artwork for their next block-buster game? The first cover art, or the place-holder, looked very good. It was simple, but it also just made sense. I would much rather see the Traveler lifting off of the world, then look at the backs of three guardians.
Does anyone else agree that the artwork is disappointing? Would you like to see it replaced with new artwork? If so, what do you think it should look like?
This has to be a place holder cover, right?

Hmmm... who cares what the box art looks like? Don't judge a book by its cover! I could care less if the game is awesome but the box art isn't up to par.
