Compare to the betrayal of a government and it's people

Easy.
-
he was betrayed by his right hand man. Just write about a bro that takes your girl and still comes over to eat your snacks

Betrayal in modern society has a bunch of 10 year olds screaming at you. Does that happen in Macbeth?
Yes, that was a joke.
In The Scottish Play, he kills to gain power and later to keep his power. People do nasty things to each other today to gain an advantage.

does it have to be *literally* real life? or could it reflect the plot of a current tv show/movie/book?
