halo players will have the advantage
Alright so I'm not trying to come off as better than anyone but, I honestly believe if you haven't played halo and are not good at it you will fail at this game. Let's look at the facts
1. Halo started it all with fps
2. Cod is way to fast paced with kills (first to c , first to kill)
3. Halo actually takes skill and precision when shooting
4. Cod all u need to do is spray and pray
5. Halo movement is a tactical advantage (dodging, ducking, strafing)
6. Let's play call of duty and lay on the ground with a shotgun in the bushes until someone walks by
7. Any halo player can demolish someone on call of duty
Tell me ur thoughts , and I'm sorry but cod is a shit game. If u don't agree your wrong

About the same skill as I was at Halo. But FPS games are just my skill I guess. Every one I pick up I am decent at. Third persons are a different story.

CoD mindset is "evasive", whilst the Halo mindset is "tank". In the GI interview with Lars Bakken, he specifically says that you can kill players (in PvP) quickly, even using only your standard rifle.

1 ReplyI think Destiny gives off more of a RAGE/Borderlands feel. Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode on Borderlands 2 requires more tactical and environmental awareness than Halo or Call of Duty, and that's a damned computer enemy.

We have a new (old?) world out there to conquer (re-conquer?). I would hope high end players would support and nurture those new to the genre and those like me who are just along for the enjoyment of the game (in my case read as really bad!) or at the very least think of them as cannon fodder to show up that canny person hiding in the bush with a shotgun. Helpful advice and support is more useful than biliousness and people please remember the whole idea of a game is to [b]ENJOY[/b] the experience hopefully not at another's expense (again except in my case as I probably deserve it). This is why Team PVE is much more appealing to me as the only enemy is the game. I would hope it would be treated as a place for fire teams to practice team work and hone skills before the leap into PVP to give people a chance to up their game. The world is a sick, sad place already people, how about just trying to make it that bit better sand leaving the hate behind.

1 ReplyCOD is an equalizer, meaning skill gap is not a huge deal, Destiny MIGHT be mire like Halo in that respect BUT, knowing it is a game FOR THE MASSES it might not be (the casual crowd does not usually keep playing competitive MP unless they feel like badasses from the get go unlike the dedicated crowd) as the publisher wants the mist bang for their invested buck. I hope I am wrong of course.

7 RepliesOk i think you guys are missing something here, it has CLEARLY been stated that Destiny is completely different then what we have seen before, it has been said that its nothin like halo and is more fast paced, making it more towards the cod style of play but not quite as there are alot of things that give an edge to the game that make it way different, such as the supers. These are completely new to the fps franchise giving the multiplayer a more technical feel because u will have to be wise as u just rushing in and getting killed will just feed the enemy team supers, also you can not just use your supers in any situation as each super is completely different from the rest, also the differentiating classes add to the fact that there are MANY different playing styles, you will have to compensate for this as not everyone will be playin the exact same way as it basically is in cod and halo. On top of this things like the sifferent movement options, melee attacks and the fact that there wont be any gun that is extremely better than the other, just different will allow for a more spread out arsenal and you wont see eeryone using the same same weapon making fighting different each time. All in all Destiny will be completely different, and playing halo or cod will NOT give you an edge depending on which game u play, yes playing an fps will give u an edge because of more experience but playing halo will not give u nore of an edge than another game.

I some what agree. In some ways halo players might have an advantage (at least halo 1-3 players) because they have always played in the worlds created by bungie and might have some insight into what bungie may be thinking.
