Need I say more?
And here's a longread for those who want to see just how terrible Republican economic policies really are.
But we have to give them credit: at least they try.
-
Actually, it's the Fed's fault. But I know it's much easier to peg this on one political party or the other.
-
Congress has more control over it than the president so then I point you to this.
2008 recession: Democrat controlled Congress; 2001-2002 recession: Split control of Congress 1990-1991 recession: Democrat controlled Congress 1981-1982 recession: Split control of Congress 1969-1970 recession: Democrat controlled Congress
-
Because Obama's doing such a great job...
-
JFK was ASSASSINATED under liberal rule I think that's way worse
-
I am certainly no fan of Republican economic policies, but based on a simple understanding of statistics, this is not a good argument against them. If you aren't running a randomized experiment or case-control studies, cause and effect between explanatory (Republican president) variables and outcome (frequency of recessions) variables is bogus.

Kupo. Y u do dis? Nwo i haf 2 buthurt ar other pplz
-
Separating America further by creating more of a party gap is not helpful at all. 9 of the last 9 recessions happened under incompetent presidents. If you want to play the party game, the liberals haven't done shit as of late, and both conservatives and liberals have decided they would rather watch our country burn then work together. We don't need a liberal president, or a conservative president. We need a competent president. For christ's sake can we get someone in office with some fucking common sense!
-
100% of all recessions were under a president
-
U are such a idiot. Dwight Eisenhower and Ronald Reagon inherited these recessions. They actually helped the country get back to its feet. And notice how Obama isn't on here another liberal biased website. Obama doubled bush's debt in 4 years when bush was in office for eight. And it depends on the congress to not just the president. The congress has been democratically controlled majority of the last 50 years
-
Let's not forget the Fed that is supposed to PREVENT those.
-
It matters not who is the President or who is in power in Congress. So long as the Federal Reserve controls the money supply and determines the interest rate, the business cycle will continue.
-
I love these threads! Errbody gets all "Well here's my logical fallacy!" xD Thank you for making the internet a fun place c:
-
Stop with the fgt political threads
-
>implying the president's political party significantly affects the economy Not that I'm defending either the Democrats or Republicans.
-
I see an economy where it's increasingly hard to find entry-level positions. Are we still masochistic love-slaves of Obama and the Democrats?
-
You're neglecting the Federal Reserve's role in the business cycle.
-
Ur an idiot!!! The president don't control the economy!!! Unless he's a democrat lol democrats are dumd. But so are repubs lol. Liberties!!!!!!
-
>implying Democratic policies work any better If were into the discussion of bashing parties, why don't you take a look at Detroit hmm??? What does that say for the Democrats? Yeah their philosophy sucks ass, but we have to give them credit because they're trying.

ITT: bait and sweeping generalizations from both sides of angsty youth.
-
Could it perhaps be that people turn to more extreme/right wing solutions in times of hardship? Either way, gr8 b8, I r8 it 8 out of 8.
