Turns out Wendy Davis, the liberal Democrat and media darling running for Gov. of Texas lied about her life story to appear more sympathetic to likely voters. She is also being accused of lying under oath, a federal offense and something that she could be disbarred for.
Part of the article:
FORT WORTH — Wendy Davis has made her personal story of struggle and success a centerpiece of her campaign to become the first Democrat elected governor of Texas in almost a quarter-century.
While her state Senate filibuster last year captured national attention, it is her biography — a divorced teenage mother living in a trailer who earned her way to Harvard and political achievement — that her team is using to attract voters and boost fundraising.
The basic elements of the narrative are true, but the full story of Davis’ life is more complicated, as often happens when public figures aim to define themselves. In the shorthand version that has developed, some facts have been blurred.
Davis was 21, not 19, when she was divorced. She lived only a few months in the family mobile home while separated from her husband before moving into an apartment with her daughter.
A single mother working two jobs, she met Jeff Davis, a lawyer 13 years older than her, married him and had a second daughter. He paid for her last two years at Texas Christian University and her time at Harvard Law School, and kept their two daughters while she was in Boston. When they divorced in 2005, he was granted parental custody, and the girls stayed with him. Wendy Davis was directed to pay child support.
In an extensive interview last week, Davis acknowledged some chronological errors and incomplete details in what she and her aides have said about her life.
“My language should be tighter,” she said. “I’m learning about using broader, looser language. I need to be more focused on the detail.”
What's also been reported is that her second husband paid for her law school education, and she filed for divorce the day after he made the final payment for her education. She then gave up custody of their child in the divorce.
Looks like she found herself an older man to pay for her lifestyle and then discarded him when he was of no more financial use.

Edited by Bolt: 1/21/2014 12:12:38 AMThat's great. Almost as great as that old white guy who won a mayoral election in a primarily black district by using his ad campaign to imply he was black (even going so far as to state that he was endorsed by a famous civil rights leader, but it turned out his (the old white guy's) brother had the same name). But somehow it's not racist when minorities vote based on race.

>democrats >integrity You can only have one.

So I get banned for globally muting obvious bait and yet somehow this idiot gets off scot-free?
-
Geez, politicians lie, who would have ever guessed?
-
So a politician lied. Nothing out of the ordinary here. Hurr hurr.

I still hate how when Rand filibustered he had shit flung at him from all angles but when she filibusters apparently she's a hero. You can't have it both ways, you either support Rand's right to filibuster or you condemn Wendy for doing it, there is no in between.
