It will automatically check bungie.net every so often as long as you're signed in, but you don't have to be actively using the site. - Click the icon and you'll get some things to play with: notifications, messages, groups, search, and options. - Note: when you click the icon, the default action is to check what your notifications are, which is the equivalent of clicking the globe icon on bungie.net. This is why if you check either, you'll lose the counter telling you you've got new notifications (since you just checked them). - I've tried to support as many of the different notification types as I could but some may be missing. - The messages tab lets you send/receive PMs. It's fairly basic. - Groups tab gives you a single alphabetical list of all the groups you've joined/followed/founded. Remember, the extension works just by doing things on your behalf as your currently signed in bungie.net account, but it doesn't do anything like posting, sending PMs, etc... without you initiating it (ie. for it to send a PM, you have to hit the send button).
