Battlefield 4 is terrible
Okay so I finally got BF4.
Terrible campaign. Not a surprise. This series has never once had a good one, and has always been inferior to even COD and Halo Reach's campaign. So yeah, not news.
Terrible multiplayer. A huge surprise. I enjoyed Blops 2 more than this pile of shit. An absolute wreck, shitty servers(not news), and only rare moments of enjoyment. It's basically a copy and paste of BF3 because BF3 started failing so they needed a cash cow. Honestly, what an absolute pile, and I was just in shock. Oh, and did I say copy and paste? I meant they looked at BF3, replicated it, didn't polish, added nothing but more bugs shitty maps.
Every COD ever is actually better than this. The only thing fun is flying jets.
Also, COD sucks too, which should amplify why this is such a turn off for me. I loved BF3. I loved Bad Company. I hate BF4, but it still calls to me, becuase I love the jet and tank.
Wish I had a -blam!-ing gaming PC.

While the multiplayer suffers from issues, I do prefer it's large vehicular maps and large scale combat to other games like CoD's and even Halo's Matchmaking. It has a more tactical feel to it. I only played the campaign for the m249 and p90, but I didn't hate it. It was decent to me, kept me entertained for a few days. Overall I enjoy it bf4.

1 ReplyEdited by Nohjja: 1/23/2014 7:16:04 PMMost starting weapons/equipment are way too easy to use, which was a direct effort by DICE to cater to CoD fanboys and casuals that can't handle recoil/bullet drop/bullet speed mechanics. AK 5C: Way too accurate, virtually zero recoil, which can be further reduce with a muzzle brake, and fastest bullet speed of all the carbines. There is literally no advantage to using any other carbine. MBT LAW: Rocket flies at a flat trajectory, automatically locks on if it gets close, reloads extremely fast, and does slightly less damage than the RPG/SMAW. Once again, starting equipment is objectively the best, that way noobs and casuals can have an easy time playing, instead of going through a learning curve/leveling up. Netcode/Lag issues only amplify the problems. This isn't even close to the full list of problems. Which really sucks, since I actually really enjoy Battlefield. But the more I play it, the more I hate it.

I disagree, I think Battlefield 4 is an amazing game covered in shit. And by shit I mean game breaking bugs. The game has been out for over 2 months now on the Xbox One (I can't speak for other systems) and it STILL has major bugs affecting it. Just yesterday I got the perma-death screen. 2 months after launch... And its so sad... because when the game actually works 100% like its supposed to its a beautiful game. But unfortunately that 100% thing, its a rarity.

2 RepliesLoved the campaign, personally. I'm a little peeved that my progress randomly reset, though. As for the multiplayer, I'm ready to fly off of the handle just thinking about it. It's just a circlejerk of tryhard vehicle-whoring mongoloids. Before somebody blasts me with "try something other than conquest", I have. Same circlejerk, different territory. Many glitches need to be addressed. I'm aware that EA rushed DICE to get it out of the door, but a lobby system is an absolute necessity for online play. Ranting aside, I thought the campaign and some of the mechanics were cool. That's a very redeeming factor. +5 - Campaign +2 - Mechanics -3 - Circlejerking douchelords. 7/10

To address what what appears to be someone playing solo and frustrated, I get you. Playing solo BF4 is hard and often a chore. If you are looking to have a better time then try to jump in with a friend, it helps. As for the mechanics they are actually very different from BF3's. From rockets to gun-play the games sit on very different levels while remaining a continuation of a series rather than something to radically new. So I will agree that the game has a long way to come it is not inherent of BF3 or even that bad really. BF4 needs to fix some basic mechanics but that tends to stem from EA breathing down their necks. Give the game some time then figure out your opinion on it.

I can kind of see how someone who isn't massively into the series might think the multiplayer is a little copy-pastey, but those who are (like me) get a real kick out of the fine-tunings made. Also, people who played BF3 on consoles who play BF4 on next-gen get to experience 64 players for the first time, so that's a pretty big change for them.
