A Destiny for Everyone

Status: Revised Heavily I don't want Destiny to be dark and gritty any longer. I want Destiny to be a game that people of all age groups can have great amounts of fun in. I don't want this game to be limited, restricted, or otherwise held back by any means, and I believe that is what we are going to get; an amazing, unrestricted experience for all users. Whatever is incorporated will be great, and that is all that matters. I can't wait for this game, and I can't wait to see you guys there!

  • I think if they added a horror aspect to some parts of the game.. It would be great. Gore is never needed... I dont care what you argue, its just not. Its a bad thing when youre playing the game while your parents are at your dorm and they have to leave because its so messy. Gore gives a bad impression for non gamers about games.

It's a change of pace, and I really appreciate that. Almost every AAA title out right now, in addition to upcoming releases, seems to be taking the gritty, realistic approach. This differentiation will continue to set them up for awhile as well, because the stream of gritty, realistic games doesn't seem to be slowing down. Also, I think you're underestimating how "adult" Destiny will be. While from an aesthetic standpoint I suppose you could make the argument that it isn't very gritty, but as the saying goes: "Don't judge a book by it's cover." I'm fully expecting Destiny's story to incorporate many darker themes.

        (A) Make an IP that is gritty, dark, and gory just like every other game currently (and soon to be) on the market. (B) Have enough foresight to see that certain genres are over-saturated and try something a little different. (Bonus) Potentially receive a rating that opens doors to an even larger fanbase. Also, "lighthearted" was probably a poor word choice to describe Destiny. Borderlands is lighthearted. Destiny seems to have a much more serious and focused tone.

        • Sounds to me like you have a very immature attitude.

          • I'm fine if the gore is similar to that of Halo or Mass Effect, not overdone or too much gore.

Dark dose t exactly bead a lot if gore. It takes a harsh environment, and so far it looks like the world of destiny is riddled with corpses from the event which took out humanity. Over all they could convey a dark world while going for a teen rating. But I some what agree, I enjoy a dark universe, like Roddick escape from butcher bay, but that's not what destiny is at heart. But I really don't feel bungie should shoot for a Teen rating, surrendering realism from your master piece for a rating seems disgraceful. A story is assisted by grit even novels made for adolescents often have grim details that spark the imagination I feel that bungie should not hold their product to standards of a Rating. It would be like taking a movie like the godfather and looking to make it PG 13
