I have been wondering what has inspired the Black Garden writers to give their characters the names they have. Why did you name your character this or that? What drove you to use the names you did?

Edited by BannedArcoloid: 1/9/2014 3:29:49 AMWhen I first noticed the various Egyptian references in Destiny (Osiris, the black pyramids, etc..) I thought to myself "What's a name with Egyptian roots that doesn't sound Egyptian?" I thought back to 9th grade World Studies and remembered a group called the Hyksos who invaded the Nile Delta during the Thirteenth Egyptian Dynasty. I then switched out the "H" with an "R" (My middle initial), creating Ryksos.

For MacGraw, I think the biggest inspiration was Client Eastwood's character in the Man With No Name trilogy(Fistful of Dollars, For A Few More Dollars, The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly) since no one knows his real name.
Also, the publishing company McGraw Hill had something to do with it.
In all honesty I chose Nora because it's Aaron backwards.
