We have little to no information on factions and how they fit into the other game mechanics. All we have are five names and logos. There was also a screenshot showing a menu in Destiny with the title,"Faction Wars". It's presumed that this represents the competitive multiplayer part of Destiny. This is further supported by descriptions of GameInformer's new information, where Factions are said to hire Guardians to fight for them in the Faction Wars. Recently there was a Destiny Drawing Board article for the Conduit F3. It was described as "The Future War Cult’s newest addition to its Faction line…" This indicates that each faction likely has a unique line of weapons and parts, though it is unclear if this is just branding, or if these "faction line" items are only available to faction members.[quote]we already know you get to customise your weapons and gear with there emblems.[/quote]Do we know that? If factions have their own line of weapons, it wouldn't really make sense to be able to put a different faction's logo on the weapon. Or put a faction logo on a weapon they didn't make. I'm thinking faction logos will be uncustomizable parts of weapons.

Being in different factions give you different side quests
