Honestly the bamboo splash I have now is really great. It's pretty basic, but it's small and allows me to travel with it. It comes with software, a drawing program, extra nibs, and decent enough pen. I've never used anything fancier so I can't say too much. Cheap buyer right here. But the OG price of the splash is roughly 170 USD.
