There are two doors, each guarded. One door leads to your life's desire and the other to your life's demise. One guard always tells the truth and the other always lies. What one question will you ask to find the door to your salvation?
English
-
"Am I a girl?" The lying guard will say no, the honest guard will tell me yes.
-
That still doesn't help you find the right door though, and you can only ask one question. Looks like you'll have to go eenie meenie.
-
Ahh, didn't see the one question rule... I would ask them both "What door would *points to other guard* say leads to my life's desire?"
-
How does that not work?
-
The guards may not be standing next to the right door. For instance, the one that tells the truth could be guarding the door to death whilst the one that lies could be guarding the door to life. Therefore, you can't assume that truth stands next to life and lies stands next to death, the only thing you know is that they are guarding two doors. Which of them is correct is still unclear, as she only identified which guard is which and not the doors. And since she can only ask one question, she has to guess.
