You have the plans for Halo 5 right in front of you. You can alter it, keep it, or completely scrap it. You can also do anything to the people that work at 343i.
What do you do?

First off, make it so that I'm in charge for life or until I choose to step down and that I can never be fired or otherwise removed from the position of overlordship with Halo. Then, promptly fire Brian Reed....preferably out of Bungie's giant slingshot aimed at the sun, ban Karen Traviss from ever touching Halo or getting involved in the creative process for it ever again. And then, declare pretty much every single thing 343i has done since Glasslands came out to be non-canon and throw it out completely, maybe have a mandatory celebration where a copy of each of the offending works will be burned on a massive bonfire where we'll also be burning Frankie in effigy after demoting him to janitor/errand boy. And then, we proceed to start over again from the end of Halo 3 and where it left off, keeping everything true to canon. I'd talk to Greg Bear and ask him what he had had planned for Silentium before 343i came along and made him change a bunch of stuff (as I'm sure they did since many of Bear's plot-threads were seemingly abandoned or outright contradicted in Silentium, there is no other reason for delaying the publishing and bumping back the novel for so long just to change the cover and for minor editing) and just the rest of the Forerunner Saga in general, and if it's good and fits let him write what he would have written before. Everything would be made sure that it fit within established canon from Bungie's run on the series. No "all Elites hate humans and always have, and they're now just looking for any excuse to go to war with them again, the only reason that any of them want peace at all is just so they can rebuild their own technology and society before trying to exterminate the human race again", or "every Covenant species is so idiotic, incompetent, and idiotic when it comes to technology that they couldn't even tie their own shoe without the Prophets' help". Elites will still be a major power spanning the majority of the Orion Arm within the galaxy, though it's only natural that they'd have some difficulties in handling technology on their own their economy or military prowess would not be completely crippled with billions roaming around all of the colonies within Covenant space aimlessly wandering around or sitting lazy in their keeps and wondering what the -blam!- they're supposed to be doing now. The majority of Elites will have a great deal of respect for humanity and either like them/be human sympathizers, or at worst just not want to fight with them anymore. The extreme minority are those like Jul who actively want to continue fighting and slaughtering humans down to the last child. There won't be any "ONI knows absolutely everything and can do whatever the hell they want to whenever they want to whoever or whatever they want and no one will ever know or ever be able to stop or touch them" so changing/removing that one little detail means no Halsey bashing whatsoever, Halsey remains free (because arresting or imprisoning her leads to too many questions and possible security breaches involving the Spartan II Program) along with everyone else rescued from Onyx (this would most likely be it's own book, there'd be too much else going on leading up to Halo 4 that'd need to be worked on for it to be incorporated into another story), officially ONI and everyone working for them will be working to destabilize or destroy factions like the Servants of Abiding Truth or all of these other sects of radicals that are left over from the collapse of the Covenant and weakening/completely destroying their power base. If the story arc revolving around Kilo-5 and their efforts to destabilize all former Covenant species whether they're allies or enemies of humanity is even included, it will eventually be discovered and all of those involved/responsible will receive the proper consequences for their treason. And then, absolutely most important of all, everyone who is a returning character and previously existed within Bungie's games and books will be in character and behaving exactly as they should. People like Lord Hood who were Halsey's friends and allies will not suddenly no longer give a shit about her and just let twisted devils like Parangosky do whatever the hell they want and break whatever laws they want in order to get back at Halsey. The Arbiter won't be a complete wimp who just hides in his keep at the first word of an angry and disorganized mob. Halsey won't be some twisted, heartless ice-queen who only ever cares about science or what she can learn. Mendez won't suddenly and inexplicably hate Halseys guts and act like a completely hypocrite. The Didact won't be some evil, mustache-twirling villain that hates all humans for absolutely no reason whatsoever and cackles maniacally at the thought of kicking puppies. And so on, and so on, etc. etc. ......I'm sure you all get the idea. Everything will be kept as closely to canon as is humanly possible. I'd regularly ask the opinions of guys still in Bungie (like Jason Jones and Marty O'Donnel) or formerly Bungie employees (like Joseph Staten) their opinions on the way things were being done or how they fit in with canon and the rest of the series. I'd probably hire the guy who did the music in Halo Wars to do the music and be lead composer for the games or the guy who did Spartans Ops. Maybe send whoever I hired off to learn from Marty and ask if he'd be willing to take them under his wing for a while in order to make sure that the music stayed true to the series and fit in with the rest of the games. Find out from Eric Nylund how he would have concluded the story threads leftover from Ghosts of Onyx and maybe try to coax him back to write that story himself or try to get him at least involved with the whole series in some kind of advisory capacity. So yeah, that's what I'd do.

I would scrap 343's bullshit plans for Halo 5 and fire everyone who works there. Starting with the idiots responsible for Halo 4. Then I would hire people who have a passion for Halo, and everything that Halo once was. And we'd bring true Halo back to the people!
-
I make sure all 343i developers are locked in a room and work on Halo 5 because I don't want the developers annoying the crap out of me so I can actually make a good game.
-
-
Scrap it and let it die.
-
First: Port Halo trilogy to Steam with mod tools and Workshop support. Second: Halo 2 Anniversary Third: Scrap Halo 5, make new IP.
-
I would get the plans, shoot them a few times and throw them in an eternally burning fire. I would then divert the entire 343i budget into time travel research and development, in order to go back and stop the monster that was Halo 4, from ever being created. I would then get together all of the employees of Bungie and the Xbox division of Microsoft and bash their heads together until they agreed upon making the final Halo game as Bungie would have intended.
-
I close it down and let the Halo franchise end before it gets even more damaged.
-
Shut 343i down. Just that simple, people.
-
Stop the production of any new Halo and give the game back to Bungie.
-
- fire or demote all leaders - restructure the chain of command with competent leaders - install a more organized group and team system - attempt to repair employee morale - fire or retrain forum moderators and set new guidelines - fire everyone and then re offer the jobs back to only those who care about their job
-
I'd fire all the people they hired who hate Halo (Yes, they hired people who hated Halo because they thought it would make the game better), I'd spank Frankie, perma ban all the mods for 10,000 years whenever they use the word 'fair', and make the next game an arena shooter again.

Edited by raveun2me: 12/23/2013 8:14:19 PMWait til AFTER Christmas of course before a MASS change. Fire all the ppl that 343i hired that didn't like Halo Fire the guy that released the pic of MC in a wheelchair. Then WARN everyone that had anything to do with it. Find the research that was tested of Traditional Halo that ppl LIKED. (343i scrapped this version) Fire Certain Affinity Fire the ppl responsible for Halo 4 Grifball. Send an Apology letter to all the ppl who had their accounts banned for giving their opinion of Halo 4 Send an Apology letter to the 15k ppl still playing Halo 4 that can't PLAY on the DLC maps that they PURCHASED WITH THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY Require BS Angel to job shadow DeeJ for 1 year and a follow up class every 3 months. Then find out why all she cares about is Unicorns & Cats. Oh WAIT....Did I just discover the plot for Halo 5? Call Jason Jones and ask to have coffee for 5 hours and beg for ideas

Edited by Dr. Halsey's Left Arm: 12/23/2013 9:22:23 AM"Hey Frankie, remember the Kilo-5 trilogy Karen Traviss wrote?" "Yes Mr. Cobra. what about it?" "It doesn't count anymore." "Oh...ok sir." "Also, where is Brian Reed?" "Here I am sir, you need something?" "Yeah, your Initiation comics sucked, try again and this time try not to make it your personal Palmer fanfiction. When that is done, tell the Spartan Ops people to release a retroactive cutscene for Episode 10 where Halsey doesn't lose an arm. Why you decided to do something so -blam!-ing stupid, I'll never know." "But sir...!" "Oh, where you going to say termination letter? Because I was thinking that." "..." "Thought so."

Dissolve 343i, throw the plans for Halo 5 at what's left of Bungie's people, and yell "fix it please".

*cracks knuckles* Halo 4 had a few issues. We all know this. The campaign, while solid, had some continuity flaws and a big lack of explanation. (for the casual Halo fan who hadn't caught up on the books) And the multi-player failed to stick, as evidenced by it's quickly dwindling community. So let's start with the Multiplayer. A List: -Remove shield bleed. Regardless of how much shield you have left, it should take a full bullet to penetrate the remaining value. -Control the weapon sandbox. Do not develop weapons that serve the same function exactly. A good example is the poor balancing between the BR & the DMR. -Fix the sound of the BR. I'm not shooting a lawnmower. -Take a good hard look at vehicle balancing in previous Halo titles. You missed the mark. -Stop increasing the reticule of the Sniper. And decrease the headshot box. It's too easy. -Consider armor abilities carefully. Each needs a niche. Each needs to be useful. Otherwise, they serve no purpose. -Don't make armor ugly. Also, don't rip off Crysis. If I wanted nano-suits, I'd play Crysis. -Fix your gametypes so they don't reward players who are already ahead. Rewards must be earned, but they shouldn't screw a team already under the gun. And I'm tired of listing things. Maybe I'll come back and say what -I'd- do.
-
Fire everyone that does not like arena Halo. Replace Brian Reed. Make Kazuma the lead composer. Bring back the old weapons, vehicles, and features. Make new gameplay features optional.
-
Edited by Lord Keksworth: 12/23/2013 5:52:53 AMScrap it, un-canonize everything published after Halo 3, and end the series on a high note.
-
Scrap it, fire everyone, shut down 343i. The idiots designing it the game clearly have no idea what they're doing.
-
Murder everyone Inside
-
More blackjack and hookers! Plus bring back blood gulch, that map was awesome.
-
Edited by Wonderbread: 12/24/2013 11:27:26 PMForce them to play Halo CE multiplayer for a week while saying "This is how Halo should play" through a megaphone.
-
And brutes would be be boars
-
I would execute all there staff and then get my own and rename it piggy industries and rename halo piglo and the master chief would have a pig tail and his AI would oink every ten mins

In order of priority from highest to lowest: >Fix the Halo 3 XBL servers. >Bring back complete online Halo 3 stats. >Add two DLC-only playlists to Reach that require users to have all DLC (one Team Slayer/Team Objective and one FFA Slayer/FFA Objective/Infection). >Add three DLC-only playlists to Halo 4 that require users to have all DLC (one Team Slayer, one Team Objective, and one FFA Slayer/FFA Objective/Infection). >Set Halo 5 on the right track to be a good game. Fix assassinations, BR, PP, and plasma grenades. Get rid of armour abilities. Bring back equipment. Halo 3 style armour permutations and ranking. Fix Slayer. Make the gameplay akin to CE, 2, and 3 rather than Reach and 4. Include some completely new maps and some old favourites (Blood Gulch, Boarding Action, Zanzibar, Headlong, Waterworks, Lockout, Valhalla, The Pit, Standoff, Rat's Nest; some will be included on launch, some will be released later as DLC to allow enough time to make them well). Add skulls. Make terminals viewable offline. Hard achievements like Save This Film. Fire anyone who does not agree to go along with my fixes and hire new people as needed.

I'd embellish money from the retirement fund.
