Gallup has been doing this poll since 1965.
72% now say big government is the greatest threat to America's future, by far the largest number ever recorded in the nearly 50 years of the poll.
Even 56% of Democrats now say big government is our biggest threat.
When Obama took office, the % of people who chose 'big government' as our greatest threat was around 53%.
Looks like Americans don't like big government liberalism these days...
Thanks Obama!

Edited by Nelson Mandela: 12/21/2013 5:11:31 AMYou never debate about anything, you just find little statistics here and there to make yourself sleep at night. And American democrats aren't for big government. They're for limited economic regulation, but to be honest that's a hell of a lot more preferable than social regulation.

Still trying to bait, huh?

The term "big government" is so vague that this poll is essentially meaningless. It can mean so many different things to every person.
-
How big was the simple random sample?

Big Government is the one thing we should actively try to avoid. There's another poll out there that shows 70% of Americans don't want all these suggested bans on various things like trans fats, certain caffeinated beverages, etc..

Looks like people are finally waking up. Don't count on it though, as long as they get handouts from the government (taxpayers) they won't change their tune.

Huh. that's interesting. And good.

This is one thing I actually thank Obama for.
