Edited by raveun2me: 12/19/2013 8:20:40 PMThere is NO designated distance for a better kill than someone else. You need to LEARN how to swing a hammer. It's all about judging distance. This will take some TIME. Do some customs with friends. You'll get killed a lot in the beginning. Don't get frustrated. Some of us have been playing Grif since H3. You'll need to do some catching up :-) One more thing........WATCH your radar and for gosh sakes...Don't jump up in the air before you go to kill your opponent. 9x out of 10 you'll end up DEAD :-)....We love ppl that do this...Your so easy to kill :-) #Gaming

Well, first off, this should be in #gaming, as well as #grammarandpunctuationcontainedmaybednageroustoIQ. But, to answer your question, the hammer has a small amount of splash damage. You often don't have to get point blank in someone's face, or even into lunge range. Somewhere just outside of lunge range is an area where you can still one-hit someone. Try and attack when you're in that range, as opposed to closer. Also, don't face a Grif head on. He can parry your blow with a melee and still OHKO you with the same attack easily, so if he's facing you he can kill you without breaking stride. You have to flank them, or keep them at bay with the splash from the hammer.
