Does this sequel improve from An Unexpected Journey? Short answer yes, long answer YEEEEEEESSSSS!

General consensus appears to be that the movie is good, but not LOTR good. Also confusion as to why Legolas is even in the movie, and why he is involved in a love triangle.

Wasn't as good as the first

You frikking serious? This movie was, at the best, a three star movie with sub par dialog, story, character development, and editing. The only things that saved it were the special effects, great acting, and awesome battle sequences. It was a fun popcorn movie, nothing else.

I didn't like it. Deviated way too much from the book. No characterization, Bilbo wasn't still acquiring his courage and becoming a BA(the whole theme of the book), he already was brave and a BA. Legolas was in the movie just for the sake of putting Legolas in the movie. And the inclusion of Tauriel was just superfluous.

Edited by Dredd: 12/17/2013 2:00:07 PMThe movie is awesome. I saw it stoned in 48fps. Disagreeing with a judge is an automatic one year in the Iso-Cube. It'd save me a lot of paper work if you'd just confess right now.
