I have all their albums, but what do you think is their BEST? (Not including live albums)
-
Master of Puppets. The bass(or lack thereof) on ...And Justice for All just bugs me. It's a Good album don't get me wrong, But the only songs I really like on there are One, The Frayed Ends of Sanity and Dyers Eve. I just love every song on MoP.
-
It's a contest between Puppets and Justice. I wish there had been more bass in the recordings of And Justice For All, but the bass volume got turned way down somewhere in the process.

stuck between ride the lightning and master of puppets

Edited by Brickman274: 12/16/2013 1:50:53 PMThe Black Album, mostly because it was the first album that I listened to of Metallica, but my second favorite is ...And Justice For All.
-
Kill 'Em All because Dave Mustaine is a boss. ...And Justice for All is my second favorite but it drags on a bit and One is the second most over rated song of all time just behind Smells like Teen Spirit Why did you group St. Awful with the semi-decent Death Magnetic?
-
Edited by Cultmeister: 12/15/2013 10:21:13 PMDeath Magnetic is really good. All Nightmare Long, The Day That Never Comes and My Apocalypse are hands down my favourite Metallica songs ever. Also; you missed out Garage inc. I mean sure it's just a covers album but still...
-
I think I might be the only one here who's favorite album is St. Anger
-
But... But... But they're all so great... I CAN'T PICK!
-
I have to change my pants after every time I listen to And Justice For All. I like them all besides Load and Reload.

Inb4metallicasoldout
which they didn't
The black album was pretty good and did really well for Metallica, don't know why people tend to exclude it. The other albums all have at least a few good songs on them. That being said, Ride the lightning is my favorite

Edited by Oneironaut: 12/15/2013 12:34:45 PMI like all their albums for various reasons (save for Load and Reload).
Kill 'Em All- Has this youthful, unabashed crazy sound that I find fun and exhilarating, a sound most notable in one of my favorites on the album, Jump in the Fire. Ride the Lightning- Still retains that youthful spark that Kill 'Em All has, but at the same time you can clearly hear where the band has matured. Great song writing too, I especially like the song Escape even though Metallica themselves hate the song. Master of Puppets- What is there to say about MoP? It's a great album. ...And Justice For All- As I said, I like all the albums (save for two) but if I had to choose a favorite, it'd be AJFA. I just love the tone of the guitars on the album, I could faintly hear a song playing and immediately know that it's an AJFA song, that's how recognizable the sound is and I just love that. Another thing I like about the album is the subject matter and the lyrics, two of my favorites on the album being The Frayed Ends of Sanity and Eye of the Beholder. Metallica- I'm just going to say meh. I don't dislike it, but I will say this, Enter Sand Man was a song that kept me from liking Metallica for a long time. It was all I'd hear on the radio, so I thought they were a crappy band (I don't mind the song now though). Load & Reload- Not even going to say much as I've never bothered to listen to either in full. I like Fuel and some other songs from one of the two. St. Anger- This album is what got me into Metallica. I don't feel like going to to detail, but I actually like the album, except of course for Lars' stupid snare (it sounds like he's making popcorn in a trashcan). I will admit though, I don't really care for the singing and the lyrics of the songs any more, but I do still like the music in majority of the songs. Death Magnetic- This album is also what got me into them. I know some fans would probably say "Why? It -blam!-ing sucks." I like it because at the time, all I was hearing was Enter Sand Man, so when I heard All Nightmare long on the radio, I was pretty intrigued as to what else they had to offer, although I'll admit it took me a couple of years to actually listen to their older stuff.
Edited by Lilith: 12/15/2013 9:50:07 AMI see everyone jumping on the bandwagon of hate, when [more than?] half of these albums were out before they were even born. I like all of Metallica's music, though their newer stuff does sound different, admittedly. How many of you saw them in concert before St. Anger was released? That's what I thought, just me.

Master of Puppets. Anything after that is garbage
-
The first 3 are the only Metallica albums were mentioning. The rest are MTV cashcow brainwashing Texas dirty metal.

I'd have to say justice is my favorite, although honestly i really do like them all, even St. Anger. although a few tracks on load/reload are a little iffy
