I don't know. I've never been a soldier so I don't know if that equipment is heavy or not. Plus, it's just what I've heard.
Also, he's not Usain Bolt. He can't just sprint, waste all of his energy, and then rest for a while. He has to conserve a lot of energy for the rest of the battle.
