If you say never. Please say why!

You guys should check out my vids! RampantAssass1n on YouTube.

I don't mind it if they're reasonable. A lot of times it comes off as tacky because they just throw it in willy-nilly. You have to wait until it's an appropriate situation.

You need to when you're starting out. Like a YouTube channel. I would post in comment sections saying "check my channel out if you like these kinds of videos" or something similar. I try not to spam too much though. You need to start somewhere. Like if you're pitching an idea to producers on a movie you want to make or showing your book to a publisher and try to get it published. If you want your product/channel/movie/book etc. to grow and become more popular then you need to self advertise.
-
I like your vids. Keep advertising.
-
Brute, you're doing an excellent job. If you didn't advertise your videos here, I'd have never known who you are or what kind of videos you do. I'd never see you blow up terrible games that deserve to be blown up. Self-advertising is an excellent way to get your foot in the door. Keep blowing up terrible games.

I think it's okay anytime if done appropriately and not in an obnoxious manner. It can be dropped in conversation if relating topics come up or you're sure/pretty dang sure your audience is interested.
-
When you're small or if you don't spam. I don't see why so many people have problems with it.
-
When you're small. How else will people hear about your product?
-
All the time. Check out my YouTube channel.
In reality, never.
