So, the Xbox One Game DVR is pretty shitty. You have to manually start clips. You can't just have everything constantly recording. Your clips can be at most 5 min long. I'm disappointed that CoD removed theater mode. I will never use the Game DVR to record clips. I really hope Bungie doesn't rely on the consoles' internal DVRs for recording games in Destiny. I want a full theater mode that doesn't record what's on screen, but tracks game objects and events like they did in Halo.
