Five years after the Human-Covenant War, long-lost Spartan John-117—the Master Chief—has been rescued off a Forerunner shield world, Requiem. Pursuing an awakened Forerunner known as the Didact, the Master Chief defeats the ancient warrior above Earth, but at a terrible cost—the death of the Chief’s AI, Cortana.
The attack on Earth opens the door to an emergent threat in the form of Jul ‘Mdama, a Covenant renegade who takes command of the Didact’s Promethean army. The UNSC Infinity, led by Captain Thomas Lasky, is deployed to prevent ‘Mdama from gaining control of Requiem, with the help of a new generation of Spartans led by Commander Sarah Palmer.
Infinity drives ‘Mdama’s forces into retreat, but the victory proves to be a temporary one . . .
(4th time Cortana's death has been confirmed)

Edited by Rex2: 12/6/2013 2:01:02 AM343 day, haha. Bungie's weekly updates always had this genuine feel to them. They always contained something that was either surprising, interesting, or just funny. Maybe part of the magic was that they were not always about dumb Halo things. 343's 'Bulletins' on the other hand are just straight up shit. They always make me feel like I am reading some cheap Chinese knockoff of Bungie's own efforts. "Look! Here's 343 day! And wait for it ... the Resistor unlock that we promised months ago for our dead game! One more thing!! An inspired comic starring your favorite, COMMANDER -blam!-ING PALMER [because we know how much our fans LOVEEE her]. Pre-order now and come to our launch party that no one is going to show up to and receive a chance to demo our Halo Mobile spinoff that nobody cares about on a Surface tablet near you" Bleh. Why don't they talk about their next Halo project or at least foreshadow when new information will come out. Why don't they discuss their experience with developing Halo 4, or conduct QA's with the community or interviews with their employees? But NOPE, here's commander palmer and some Halo shit you can buy. Sorry, had to. That was bottled up for a while.
