This post is about both religion and politics, I'm sorry, but I must know about this mentality.
Whenever I read a news article or story on this site, there are always people in the comments attacking eachother on their beliefs. Wether it's political or religious, people use every event to attack eachother.
- Is there a shooting?
Goddamned Conservitards should learn their lesson now.
- Healthcare?
Liberals trying to steal my money
- Pope does something good?
Atheist Liberals will look retarded now!
- New particle discovered?
Ha! I guess those Christians must feel stupid now
You guys live together in one fucking country. You'll have to work together to get out of this mess you've gotten yourself into and the only thing people are doing is trying to blame eachother, block eachother's ideas and pick fights.
Why can't people just respect eachother for what they are? You think your country is so great? You can only make it great if you work together, because right now it's spiralling into a sinkhole with no end.

The whole world is just a piece of poop..

Should we get into a gun control debate?
-
The problem with American Political/Religious views is that if you get enough people to agree with what you think, you'll develop this false mentality that you're always right and the opposition is worse than Hitler.
-
This is what happens when you cram the whole -blam!-ing world into one spot.
-
That's exactly why I don't label myself. The hilarious thing is the labels are meaningless. It's not just this country, it's this entire species. It's not that hard to help ourselves. Our "problems" here are nothing when you have an elementary level of understanding.
-
I love you so much right now it isn't even funny.
OP makes a thread
Ha! OP must be sucking dick!

Well until the government starts using it's technology to restrict our thoughts (give them at least another year or two ;) ) this will always be happening.
-
Only a dumb liberal would say that? You're going to hell you gay, atheist, communist, terrorist sympathizer!
-
It's the inconvenient truth that our political system is broken due to the party system. It's rather depressing.
-
Without the 'us v them' and realizing that titles, political, religious or otherwise, are tearing us apart, we will always be like this and do this. Drop the title that you have and look at your fellow human as a brother or sister, not an atheist/theist or republican/democrat but as someone who can possibly change the world. Yeah, you may have earned that title, but it separates the humanity you have with others. Step back from your ego, as we share this planet, and look at the results of fighting.

It's why our congress can't do anything, we disagree not because of idea, but political party, and the few that are willing to compromise are seen as cowardly versions if the true parties.... Go politics

The devil likes to work through the media, he gets a kick out of dividing people up.
Am I kidding? Ill let you make that call.
'Us vs Them' war mentality drilled into them from birth. Everything is a war; you should always be on the lookout for the enemy. If someone disagrees with you, that's an enemy and they're attacking (or thinking of attacking) your views. Best attack them first so as to take them by surprise; that way you're sure to have the upper hand.

It's because human beings are malicious and all idiots.
-
Because it's our right as citizens. If people want to act like that they can. I usually just ignore it.

I think my fellow Americans will agree that despite our differences, we're still better than every other country.
:P
Because people need to prove that they're right over the internet. Hence why they take every opportunity to do so. Or they have a superiority complex and look down on differing view points. Or because they're an internet tough guy. Fun fact: "Know-it-alls" usually come from people who are self conscious in one aspect of their life, and express it by demonstrating their skill at another aspect that they are skilled at. (Ex: Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory is self-conscious/embarrassed at his lack of ability at sports/social interactions, so he adopts an elitist attitude. Also, he retreats into another aspect that he is secure in, such as his intellect. Hence, why he corrects everybody all of the time.) I'm studying psychology in my spare time, so if anyone who has experience in it could tell me what I got right and what I got wrong, it would be appreciated!

When you're in a war, you're supposed to use the ammunition given to you, right?
