...company's latest creation: drones that can deliver packages up to 5 pounds to your house in less than half an hour. They're technically octocopters, as part of a program called "Amazon Prime Air."
I think it's a bad idea since those drones need lots of cameras to work, and I'm already monitored by everyone from Google to Obama, I don't need a personal helicopter.
Plus, the moment these things get into the countryside they are going to be shot down by the hundreds. (and even in towns you'll get kids using everything from airsoft to pellet guns on them lol)
*dons foil hat*
To be clear, I do like the idea of near-instant shipping, I just am suspicious of who gets to see what from those drones, and what will happen when people start vandalizing them.
I don't see why we want everything done quicker these days, especially if that means mechanisation. All that means is less jobs which is not a good thing.
-
I believe in the interview he stated the drones would be completely automated and be flown based on GIS data.
-
Well there can be laws put in place to stop the potential misuse of data.
-
There is no rational argument against this. Mechanization of grunt work is the logical next step for society.

Adult products being shot at my gf? Ill take ten please.

I'm all for this. Now I don't have to look the deliveryman in the eye when I get my monthly shipment of MLP fleshlights.
-
I like the idea, but I do wonder how they will keep the drones safe. quadcopters aren't exactly cheap.
-
Yaaaaayyyyy murica
-
I dunno. I kind of like the idea a lot. People just aren't ready for this yet I don't think. People are stupid and fearful, it'll take a long time before they're comfortable with this idea.

It's alright it'll be another century after they are released in the US before they get here in Australia. So I'm safe.
