guys, I think america might not actually be fat....

so in this video you can see that america doesn't even make it into the top 10 laziest countries (measured by % of pop. that don't regularly exercise), yet it has a high % of overweight and obese people. after some research, i found that about half of all americans do exercise regularly (wikipedia: 40% sedentary, cdc: 48.4 of adults 18 years of age and over who met the Physical Activity Guidelines for aerobic physical activity) albeit most dont do enough. now as most should know, obesity is measured BMI (not % of body fat as i think it should be) which is a ratio between body height and weight. this is all fine and dandy until you stop to consider that muscle is much denser than fat (this is why if you're muscular and you stop exercising and put on fat you will actually lose weight at first), this small discrepancy has actually led to perfectly fit people being diagnosed as medically obese. people like george w. bush and virtually every professional athlete. so what does this all mean? well maybe, just maybe, america actually isnt as fat we've been led to believe. maybe america just has a lot of fit muscular people skewing the flawed statistics. (on a side note: if im actually correct, that would mean the UK actually has more fatties per capita than the US)
